State Certified Hunter Safety Classes

Washington state requires all hunters born after 1971 to take and pass a Hunter Education class before they can get a hunting license. Many states also require the completion of a Hunter Education class before they will issue an “out-of-state” hunting license to any non-resident. Hunter. Our Hunter Education certification requirements are accepted by reciprocal agreements in all states.

Both 4-day Traditional Hunter Education classes or a 1 day Online Field Evaluation class are held throughout the year. Our Traditional classes are four days long; usually a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evening from 6:30pm to 9:00pm and a Saturday morning from 8:00am to 12 noon. The Field Evaluation class is held on Saturday from 8:00am to 12 noon. Classes are limited to 25 students and tend to fill rapidly. By state policy, parents are required to accompany pre-teens to the classes.

More information on Hunter Education, on-line registrations, and the entire schedule for the year for all classes in the state can be found at the State Wildlife Department’s web site. For the Kenmore Range (WCW) classes, we charge a registration fee of $10.00 per student, payable upon attendance. All registration is done online at the Washington Fish & Wildlife Department we site: wdfw.wa.gov. Please visit the web site for registration and class date information.
